The Catio Process

1.

Contact Us

Have a question? Get in touch on our contact us page.

2.

Fill Out Our Catio Inquiry Form

Ready to turn your catio dream into a reality? Fill out our Catio Inquiry Form to get started. This form should only take a few minutes to complete and will give us an idea of the size of catio and features that you’re interested in.

3.

Design Consultation

Once we have reviewed your form, we’ll reach out to schedule a site visit with a no-pressure catio consultation. On the day of the site visit, we will take a look at your proposed catio site, offer feedback and suggestions, take some measurements, and finalize the design with you.

4.

Estimate + Design

Within 3-5 days after our site visit, we will send you an estimate with a description of your catio design. We want to ensure that the design matches your vision to create the #PurrfectPlace for your cat.

5.

Deposit + Construction

Once the estimate and design are approved, we request 50% of the deposit by e-transfer to purchase the materials and start building.

6.

Schedule Installation

Within 2-4 weeks of receiving the deposit, we will contact you to arrange installation. We’ll send you an installation day checklist so that you’re all prepared for what will happen on the day.

7.

Installation Day

Now we assemble the individual parts and integrate them into your home’s structure according to the plan. This process usually takes 2-5 hours but can be longer based on the size of the catio.

8.

Welcome Home Kitty!

Alongside you, we help introduce your cat to its brand-new outdoor environment and ensure a great first experience. Some cats take to their catios right away, while others need some time to get used to them - this is purrfectly normal and to be expected.

9.

Final Payment

Once your catio is installed, we send the invoice for final payment and present you with an electronic warranty entitling you to no-cost repairs for the first year – no questions asked! We also provide a handy one-pager on how to care for your catio so that your cat will enjoy it for many years to come.

Our acrylic dome beds are purrfect for cats who love lounging in all kinds of positions. A great way to relax while catching some rays and checking out the view!

A catio suspension bridge between two shelves.

Bridge

A fun way to travel between platforms or to climb to new heights, our sturdy handcrafted bridges are made from high-quality cedar treated with cat-safe sealant and nylon strapping, and can be covered with artificial turf.

A box with turf on the top and an opening that is shaped like a cat's head.

Corner Box

A great option for shy cats, our corner boxes are made from cedar or knotty pine, and come with a cat face cutout. Lined with turf and large enough to fit a small cat bed, our corner boxes will keep cats feeling safe, secure and adventurous on their own terms.

A cat walking up stairs.

Staircase

A great option for cats who may be less mobile, we install stairs at the opening of cat flaps and between shelves for easy access to different parts of the catio. Our stairs are handcrafted from thick knotty pine or combed fascia, treated with cat-safe sealant or paint, and add a classy look to any catio.

A perch that is shaped like a cat's head.

Cat Face Perch

Made of thick knotty pine treated with cat-safe exterior sealant, our large perches give cats extra space to spread out and nap.

CatioCam

A purrfect option for cat guardians who want to monitor their cats while they are at work, or away. Weather resistant, and includes motion and sound detection. Check in via an easy-to-use app and keep up with your cat’s naps and bird-watching adventures.

A tunnel with entrances shaped like cats along the sides.

Tunnel with Cat Face Cut Out

Our tunnels are a fun way for cats to travel between shelves or different parts of the catio. They are created from contractor-grade building forms made from multiple layers of high-quality fibre with a special moisture-resistant coating. The tunnel exterior is painted to add an extra layer of weather protection and includes cat face cutouts that are approximately 7” wide and purrfect spying spots.

A sliding glass door with a pet flap.

Sliding Glass Door Panel with Pet Flap

We professionally install these pet panels into your sliding door track, allowing your cat easy access to the catio, whenever they choose. These panels come with a locking door to control catio access.

A scratching post.

Scratching Post

Made with strong 2” thick PVC piping, wrapped in weather-resistant Pro-Manila rope, and sitting on a thick knotty pine base, we can connect our sturdy scratching posts to the underside of any shelf or to the top of the catio roof - it all depends on how your cat likes to scratch.

A window panel with pet flaps on either side to lock or unlock the flap.

Polycarbonate Window Panel with Pet Flap

Our clear 6mm polycarbonate resembles glass but is lighter, shatter-proof, scratch-proof and 250 times stronger than glass. We hand cut the pet flap opening into the polycarbonate panel and install the 4-way locking pet flap into place. We then create a border from ¾” thick white waterproof vinyl to hold the panel in place and to provide weatherproofing.

Exterior Wall Pet Flap

Don’t have an opening window or a sliding glass door for your cat to access the catio? No problem! We professionally install these exterior wall pet flaps directly into the wall of your home. These can be locked to prevent access to the catio. **Only available to clients who do not live in strata housing.

A ramp, painted black, leading up to a shelf that overlooks a residential neighbourhood.

Ramps

Made of thick knotty pine or combed fascia, treated with cat-safe sealant or paint, our ramps gives cats some sneaky exercise along with a quick route to a higher shelf.

Hiding Spot

More like a privacy screen, our hiding spots are made of thick knotty pine shelving treated with cat-safe sealant and include a cat face cutout for easy monitoring. An excellent option for shyer cats who may need a break from adventuring.
